<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica;">My grandmother introduced me to sewing at an early age. She had beautiful handmade things around her house and I developed an appreciation for the skill and craft. I still have the first thing we sewed together &#8211; a small quilt. I remember being to short to reach the treadle (yep, that is the pedal on a manual sewing machine) and guide the fabric  &#8211; so I treadled and grandmother guided. That was one of my fondest memories of her and I am so thankful she took the time to share her love of sewing with me.</p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica; min-height: 17.0px;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"> </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">In sixth grade,  my teacher brought a couple of sewing machines to class. We all were given the opportunity to make something for our mothers for Christmas. I made an apron for my mother. She cherished it for years and I now have it.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica; min-height: 17.0px;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"> </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">During my teen years,  most of my clothes were handmade by my Mother. We did not have a lot of money for “store bought” clothes so I learned to make my own. I was not always happy about having to do that, but a life long love and appreciation for fine handmade things was learned from that experience.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica; min-height: 17.0px;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"> </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">Now, I am a Grandmother of five beautiful children and as I reflect back over my life; I  realize how much satisfaction and fulfillment  have been derived from sewing. When my own children were young, I chose to be an &#8220;at home&#8221; Mom. My husband traveled and we felt it important that I be there for them. I started sewing for people to supplement our income and have never regretted that decision.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica; min-height: 17.0px;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"> </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">I was inspired by the scripture Proverbs 31:</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica; min-height: 17.0px;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"> </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">“She makes sure her dealing are profitable &#8230;her hands are busy spinning thread, her fingers twisting fiber&#8230;she has no fear of the Winter, for everyone has warm clothes.  She makes her own bedspreads.  She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns&#8230;..she makes belted linen garments and sashes to sell to the merchants.  She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear for the future.”</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica; min-height: 17.0px;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"> </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">I spent many years practicing my clothing talents in dressmaking and bridal. I thoroughly enjoyed working with brides and bridesmaids during such happy times in someone’s life.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica; min-height: 17.0px;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"> </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">Later, I began developing an interest in home decor. I have created countless bedroom ensembles, custom draperies, cornices, pillows and other items for the home. I find great satisfaction in helping someone making their home as beautiful as their dreams.  More recently, I have enjoyed making embroidered and embellished infant and children’s items. These small, relatively inexpensive items are so fun to make and give and the creative opportunities are limitless. Simply put, I try to put a little piece of me into everything I create and give the Glory to God who has blessed me with  this ability.</span></p>

<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">Today we are in beautiful Greenville, South Carolina starting over (again), a new direction with a great new family business.</span></p>

<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 22.0px; font: 14.0px Helvetica;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">You are welcome to join me on my journey.</span></p>
